This fantastic speckled glaze bowl from the Drôme region of France dates from the 1970s. Featuring a beautiful glaze and delicately detailed hand-carved classical Greek designs. Marked "GP" beneath for La Grange aux Potiers.

La Grange aux Potiers was a workshop in the Drôme region created by the couple René and Madeleine de Valence. Active between 1940 and 1980s. After René's death in 1963, Madeleine continued their work for another twenty years. They were friends with Picasso and pictured together at the 1955 International ceramics conference in Cannes, France. This would be a fabulous piece to to add a touch of French artisan history to your home displayed on a shelf or used as a special fruit bowl in your kitchen.
