This tall and striking pair of French silver-plated metal candlesticks dates to the 1970s and was originally made for liturgical use. Each is conceived as a slender column rising from a square base set on a stepped plinth, capped with a broad square drip pan suited to pillar or sphere candles. The silver tone has a soft sheen with a gently oxidized patina, while the silhouette is modern, tempered by a quiet neoclassical spirit.
Placed on a console or sideboard, they can flank artwork or mirrors, their tall scale providing graceful vertical balance and a calm, ceremonial presence. They pair easily with both contemporary and traditional interiors, adding a refined metallic note by day and a warm glow by night. When not in use as candlesticks, they may also serve as slender pedestals for small objects, lending poise and understated drama to an entryway, dining room, or living space.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
