Dating from the nineteenth century, a large French "Moutarde" or mustard jar with lid. Rare to find with its original domed lid, it features lovely blue-green painted accents on its top knob, side handles, and lettering across the front.

From a private collection in the south of France, this piece also features a scoop-shaped wooden spoon collected by the owner which fits perfectly in the lid's spoon rest opening. A lovely piece to decorate a French-inspired kitchen shelf or to use as a utensil crock by the stove by removing the lid. Please note the fissure down front as seen in photos. In solid condition.
