This collection of four French earthenware jars were originally used for preserves. The lip at the top of the jar was for fastening a fabric cover.
Three of the jars have maker’s marks including ‘L.M & CIE Déposé Creil et Montereau’ - La faïence de Creil-Montereau are renowned for their exquisite French earthenware.
Light wear consistent with age and use.
Sizes range from approximately:
4” diameter x 4” high to 6” diameter x 3¾” high
10cm diameter x 10cm high to 15cm diameter x 9.5cm high
