19th century French marble mortar and pestle


This weighty marble mortar and pestle dates to the 19th century. It is a piece that is typical of the South of France. There are two pestles of different sizes that are most likely buis or boxwood tree. Condition is consistent with age and use.

Mortar: 12¼” diameter x 5½” high / 31cm diameter x 14cm high

Pestle one: 6¾” long x 1¾” diameter / 17cm long x 4.5cm diameter
