This 19th-century painted trumeau mirror is a graceful expression of Neoclassical style, blending architectural symmetry with decorative refinement.  Its two-part design features a charming mercury glass mirror below, offering good visibility while displaying delicate foxing that contributes to its timeworn appeal. Above, a carved and painted relief of a classical urn brimming with stylized floral motifs takes center stage, rendered in soft green tones that harmonize beautifully with the warm, aged cream background.
Framed with subtle green-painted molding, the composition is both ornate and balanced. The floral urn, rich in symbolism, evokes themes of abundance and elegance, drawing inspiration from neoclassical and French provincial traditions. Its graceful proportions and softly weathered patina lend it a captivating presence, making it a striking focal point in traditional, rustic, or eclectic interiors alike.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
Note: Mirrors have been photographed facing fabric, a technique that reveals any age spots in the glass. In some cases, this may create the appearance of an empty frame, but each mirror is complete except where explicitly stated.
This mirror contains its original mercury glass which sparkles beautifully in the light. The technique of making mercury glass mirrors was retired in the early 1900s. The mercury is fixed behind the glass in a solidified, non harmful state.
