This timeworn Castelnaudary garden planter dates from the nineteenth-century. Terracotta with classic green glaze and four handles for lifting. Originally planted with citrus, that had to be bought into the Orangerie over winter (hence the handles).
Heavy wear and rustic condition consistent with age and use.
