19th century Kanti water pitcher 10¾"

Kanti pitchers are from the Languedoc region of south west France. They are similar to water cruches except that they are entirely closed on top - there is no lid to open and close (or lose!) They were originally used for fetching water from the village fountain.

 

Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
Approx. overall 10¾" high x 8¼" diameter externally
Approx. overall 27cm high x 21cm diameter externally
