A Louis XV style desk from the 19th century. The marquetry is a mixture of timbers including rosewood and fruit-tree. The musical motif in the middle of the table top is a lovely feature. The legs are decorated with polished bronze.
There is one full length drawer that slides open and closed smoothly. The table top has a brass edging that is attached with small nails.
The proportions are generous and there is good clearance beneath to sit comfortably with crossed legs on the pictured chair. There is some light wear as photographed.
