19th-century Napoleon 3 theatre-style "boîte de couturière" seamstress box

SKU: 17210

US$3,080

Dating from the nineteenth century, a Napoleon III-style seamstress necessities box shaped like a theatre inside. When the box is opened, the mirrored top half is trimmed with pink velvet curtains and matching pink fringe to mimic that of a theatre stage. The lower half of the box features many useful storage components and original metal supplies such as thimbles and miniature couturière scissors. The key is included.

Note the pretty brass details on the sides and the etched/engraved design details. A delightful gift for the French fashion-obsessed or as a unique piece to store jewelry. Please note in the photos that the mirror in the lower half between the pink velvet-wrapped pincushions is cracked.
