Dating from the seventeenth century, these two exquisite wooden sculptures are most likely of Flemish origin. Some of the polychrome paint remains. They would have originally held flags in their hands - note the holes and position of the arms. They will animate a vignette and add a lovely contrast.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
