Dating from the start of the twentieth century, France, an antique black-painted iron umbrella holder in the shape of an officer's boot. A whimsical piece to add a touch of French charm and playfulness to your entry. This style of boot is modeled after a strong position boot from the second half of the eighteenth century with reinforcement at the level of the knees.

Also known as "seven-league boots", huge shoes like this represent an element in European folklore. Legend has it, the boots allow the person wearing them to take strides of seven leagues per step, resulting in great speed. The boots are often presented by a magical character to the protagonist to aid in the completion of a significant task.
