Preserving jar 4" yellow ware, 19th-century 1/2

This late 19^th century French yellow ware jar was used for jams and conserves. The lip at the top of the jar was for fastening a fabric cover. Its origin is the alpine region of Haute-Savoie. Patina consistent with age and use.
