Preserving jar 4¼" yellow ware, 19th-century - 1/4

This high-quality late-19th-century French yellow ware jar originally was used for jams and conserves. The lip at the top of the jar was used to help secure a fabric cover. The base has a spiral pattern. Originates from the alpine region of Haute-Savoie. Patina consistent with age and use.
