This late 19th century French yellow ware jar was used for jams and conserves. The lip at the top of the jar was for fastening a fabric cover. There is a spiral pattern on the base, a potters stamp reading 10 and its origin is the alpine region of Haute-Savoie. Patina consistent with age and use.
