4¼” French yellow ware preserving jar – late 19th century 3/4


This late 19th century French yellow ware jar was used for jams and conserves. The lip at the top of the jar was for fastening a fabric cover. There is a spiral pattern on the base and its origin is the alpine region of Haute-Savoie. Patina consistent with age and use.

Approx. 4¼” diameter x 4¾” high

Approx. 10.5cm diameter x 12cm high
