A set of five modern ikat blue and white trays by the maker Olivades. An essential tool in Patricia Wells' cooking classes in Provence, these trays were used as "mise-en-place" trays full of ingredients Patricia would measure for each student and distribute before making a recipe together.
They are well-loved and show tales of the classes - for example, one tray has a slightly singed corner that got a bit too close to a hot flame on the stove! A wonderful testament to Patricia's thirty five years of teaching cooking classes and imparting the love language of French cooking to her students.
Heavy wear and rustic condition consistent with age and use.
