A charming set of five small side plates by Étienne Noël (1885 - 1964) from Dieulefit. Note how fine they are and their lovely pale yellow glaze with dark brown edge. They are stamped Étienne Noël underneath. A rare find and thrill for fans of Dieulefit pottery.

Étienne Noël (1885 - 1964) was a notable French ceramist known for his significant contributions to the ceramics industry in Dieulefit, a pretty village in the Drôme department. Active primarily in the early to mid-20th century, Noël was renowned for his innovative glazing techniques and the use of the traditional yellow and green glazes frequently found in Dieulefit pottery. His work balanced traditional forms with artistic flair, drawing inspiration from ancient and oriental civilizations.
