This beautifulq console table from the late 18th century features a rectangular marble top with a subtly shaped, molded edge, set above a richly carved apron and supported by four tapering, fluted legs, accented with ringed collars and turned feet. The apron is finely detailed with bead molding, scrolling acanthus, and a central palmette, framed by rosette-carved corner blocks. The marble top is a striking Brèche d’Alep from southern France, composed of warm ochre, honey, cream, and deep russet fragments, densely mottled and naturally patterned with irregular veining.
Designed to be placed against a wall, the back is left uncarved and is not intended to be visible. The piece presents in good, timeworn condition, with small chips along one side of the marble edge and a few surface scratches; the painted base shows a gently distressed patina.
This console works equally well in an entry hall beneath a mirror, behind a sofa in the living room, or in a dining room as a compact serving surface. Its appeal lies in the contrast between the lively marble and the refined, time-softened base, giving it enough presence to anchor a space without overwhelming it.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
