Antique carved walnut salt box - Louis XV style, Provence

This extraordinary Provençal salt box dates from the late-nineteenth to early-twentieth century. Beautifully carved from walnut in the Louis XV style, there is a hinged lid on top and small drawer underneath (for coarse and fine salt). It can either be wall mounted or sit on the kitchen counter. The finials are detachable and have some losses as seen in photos.
