Antique confiture pot w/ pale cream glaze - Provence 4¾"

A delightful glazed antique terracotta confiture pot from the south of France. The glaze is a sweet pale custard color. There is an indention near the top of the cylindrical jar which creates a space to secure a cloth top with string. The interior is fully glazed in the same color as the exterior. Note the interior shows pitting to the glaze.

Note the line seen in the glaze near the bottom occurred during its original firing and is a defect in the glaze not a crack. A charming piece to add to a collection of pottery and bring a touch of Provence to your kitchen.
