Dating from the 1930s, a superb antique French Bayard Pens oak-and-glass two-shelf display case. This box would have been displayed next to the cash register to entice customers to purchase a last-minute item like a nice Bayard fountain pen. The shelf is enclosed with four glass panels on the three sides and top. The wooden shelves are slanted to show the style of the pens from a favorable angle and feature the Bayard mark on all three sides.

The piece opens from the hinged back door with a small brass pull, and small metal latches for security are fixed at the top and bottom. A remarkable piece of history for a fountain pen collector.

Bayard is a historic French fountain pen company founded in 1922. It continued operations until the 1960s when, as most producers, was taken down by the revolution of the ballpoint pen. Source: Wikipedia
