This rustic ceramic bowl has a rich green glaze and dates to the 19th century. It is from the village of Dieulefit which is renowned for its colourful pottery. The bowl was originally designed for serving omelettes, known as a vire-omlette. It would look lovely displaying fruit or eggs as it sits on a slightly elevated base. Condition consistent with age and use.
