This lovely antique painted walnut commode dates to the transition period between Louis XIV and Louis XV in the late-eighteenth century and has a pretty pastel blue-grey paint finish. It contains five drawers, with four visible and the fifth being a secret drawer nestled between the top two drawers. To open the secret drawer, you must open two top first and then pull out the middle drawer. The bronze hardware is original and there is no key.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
