Antique French confit pot w/ brown & green glaze 6¾"

This charming grease pot or 'pot a graisse' dates from the late nineteenth to early twentieth century. It was handmade from terracotta and finished with marron glaze and some green drips.

A lovely piece to add to a collection of antique French pottery. If using as a vase, as the outside of the pot is unglazed, we recommend a watertight container be put inside as condensation can form on the outside of the pot.
