This superb granite counterweight dates from the late nineteenth / early twentieth century. Multiple uses were possible - it could have been used for an open fire rotisserie or as a counterweight when loading up a horse-drawn cart to prevent the cart from tipping over.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
