This listing is part of the 'At Home with Patricia Wells' collection of epicurean objects and decorative antiques.
A trio of antique farm tools from the late nineteenth century from Chanteduc, the home of Patricia and Walter Wells in Provence. Walter loves collecting old tools that would have been used on their farm. These are no exception - the ensemble includes a scythe and two sickles.
In French, the scythe is called a 'faux' and it's used to 'faucher'. The large curved blade was used for harvesting lavender in the summer while the smaller blades were for pruning vines. Note, these have been displayed outdoors in the weather for several years so are in rustic, timeworn condition.

Heavy wear and rustic condition consistent with age and use.
