Antique French mercury glass coupe 5"

SKU: 16102

US$433
From a private collection in Paris, this fabulous nineteenth century mercury glass coupe has a lovely "verre églomisé" acid-etched glass foliage. Verre églomisé is a French term referring to the process of applying both a design and gilding onto the rear face of glass to produce a mirror finish. The name is derived from the 18th-century French decorator and art dealer Jean-Baptiste Glomy, who was responsible for its revival. (Credit: Plumetis Magazine). A perfect decorative addition to any glassware collection or interior space.
