Antique French oak Louis XV center desk 57½" x 26½"

This beautiful Louis XV center desk, dating from the early 18th century, is crafted from oak wood. Designed to be displayed in the middle of a room rather than against a wall, it features intricate carvings on all sides. The desk stands on eight elegant out-turned cabriole legs, each adorned with bronze feet, and includes five drawers. The desk's top is gracefully curved at the front, adding to its refined appearance. It retains its original key, decorated with a fleur-de-lis motif, which functions perfectly to lock and unlock all the drawers. The bronze key and keyplates further enhance its noble character. The keyplates are bronze and there is a minor repair on one leg.
