A late 19th- or early 20th-century French terracotta confit pot, featuring the iconic high-shouldered, bellied form and twin loop handles. The upper half is finished in a warm, vibrant ochre glaze with characterful dark speckling, while the lower body is left unglazed, exposing the beautifully weathered, pale earthenware beneath. A distinctive band of pale engobe slips from beneath the glaze line, creating a soft visual transition around the belly. Time and authentic utility have granted this piece an exquisite rustic patina, marked by scattered glaze losses, rim chips, historic rubbing, and localized darkening.
A classic piece of regional French pottery with exceptional decorative presence, it would work beautifully on a kitchen worktop, console, open shelf or large farmhouse table, either displayed empty or used with dried branches or flowers. If water is used, a liner should be inserted.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
