A lovely antique French tian mixing bowl with a pretty, pale lemon curd-colored glaze on the inside. Note the helpful pinched pouring beak and artful splashes of yellow glaze around the rim.
This is from Chanteduc, the home of renowned food writer Patricia and her husband Walter Wells in Provence. Patricia uses this bowl for serving large salads or vegetables. It reminds her of summer as after cooking all week during her summer cooking courses, on Friday they would celebrate with a big table full of salads and fresh summer vegetables.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
