A splendid antique French terracotta walnut oil pot from the nineteenth century with ochre brown glazing, handles, and a tapered neck. Note the vertical ribs formed in the clay down the sides which resembles a walnut texture. Glaze color can often tell us from which region a walnut pot was made. Due to this piece's brown glazing, it is likely from the Dordogne region of France. A lovely addition to a collection of French pottery or transformed into a unique table lamp.
