This extremely rare walnut oil jar with lid / stopper is over 400 years old. It has a very deep green almost black glaze with extraordinary patina. Its rarity is exemplified by its retention of its original lid / stopper. It is from the Auvergne-Périgord region of France, made in the seventeenth century or older. This would be a fantastic piece to add to a collection of pottery or stand alone as a decorative conversation piece of French country history.
