A charming petite handled colander in glazed terracotta, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. Hand-thrown with a rolled rim, shallow circular bowl, and evenly perforated base, it features a tubular handle pierced at the tip for hanging. The surface displays a warm honey-to-russet glaze with soft olive pooling and subtle kiln speckling.
Once used for rinsing berries or draining curds, it belongs to the long heritage of rural pottery from southern France. With small rim nicks, light staining, and gentle glaze wear, it remains sturdy and functional, equally suited for continued kitchen use or as a charming rustic accent, whether hung on a wall, holding fruit, or grouped with other earthenware pieces.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
