A large green-glazed orjol water jug from southern France, likely Languedoc, dating from the early 20th century. Its rounded body rises to a short collar flanked by an arched handle and an upturned pouring spout, all set above an unglazed foot. The exterior is coated in a rich apple-green glaze, while the interior is finished in warm honey-yellow enamel. Timeworn and full of character, it displays scattered glaze losses, minor rim nicks, and surface wear consistent with age and use.
The orjol was the characteristic water jug of southwestern France, used for carrying and storing water in everyday rural life. Today, it makes a particularly characterful addition to a collection of French country pottery, its generous form and vibrant green glaze embodying the enduring appeal of regional _terre vernissée_. Display it on a console, kitchen dresser, or farmhouse table, either alone with olive cuttings or dried branches, or alongside confit pots and terracotta jars. Its worn surface, rich glaze, and sculptural silhouette bring warmth, texture, and unmistakable southern French character to any interior.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
