Characterful antique iron water wheel buckets from Portugal, originally used on traditional water-powered mills to lift and transport water as the wheel turned. Hand-forged and riveted, each bucket bears the marks of decades of use, developing a richly weathered surface with layers of rust, mineral deposits, and patina that make every example unique.

The original perforations, an integral part of their historic function, allowed the buckets to drain as they completed their cycle. Today, these openings make them particularly well suited to decorative repurposing as planters, providing natural drainage for flowers, herbs, ferns, or trailing plants. The forged iron hooks allow the buckets to be hung individually or linked together to create striking vertical arrangements, adapting easily to a variety of spaces and decorative schemes.
