This antique Lait Mont Blanc milk crate from the 1940s or 1950s is made of fir wood and shows a beautiful natural patina from decades of use. Sturdy and rustic, it features simple bold black lettering indicating the brand name, town of origin, and the number of bottles it once contained, as it was originally used to transport glass milk bottles. The mountain region of Haute-Savoie, home to the Compagnie Générale du Lait based in Rumilly, is known for its rich dairy traditions and Alpine heritage.
Today, it makes a charming addition to any interior. Use it as a decorative storage box, a unique herb planter, or even a kindling basket by the fireplace. The original French lettering adds character and a touch of continental charm to both rustic and modern spaces.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
