Antique large Italian walnut mirror w/ black inlay - rectangular 32"x28"

This stunning antique large Italian walnut mirror dates from the late eighteenth to early nineteenth century. It contains its original mercury glass mirror which is beveled around the edges. Note the handsome black inlay repeated around the frame. This beautiful rectangular mirror will complement both modern and classic interiors and can be hung both vertically and horizontally.

Note the small loss in lower right corner and reparations on the upper left side.

This mirror contains its original mercury glass which sparkles beautifully in the light. The technique of making mercury glass mirrors was retired in the early 1900s. The mercury is fixed behind the glass in a solidified, non-harmful state. 

Note: Mirrors have been photographed facing fabric, a technique that reveals any age spots in the glass. In some cases, this may create the appearance of an empty frame, but each mirror is complete except where explicitly stated.
