This superb, weighty antique white marble mortar dates from the late nineteenth century. An essential cooking tool for any kitchen and an attractive object to display on the countertop. Note the four lobes are in great condition. This would have been a popular tool to use to hand-make pesto, aioli, and sardine dip typical to the South of France.
