This antique French meat cleaver dates from the late nineteenth / early twentieth century. Known as a "feuille de boucherie" in butcher shops across France. It has a wooden handle and blade that was forged by hand, this antique French knife exhibits craft and skilled blacksmithing work.

This cleaver is from Chanteduc, the home of Patricia and Walter Wells in Provence. Walter loves collecting old tools that would have been used on their farm, this knife is displayed with his other antique tools in the courtyard or basse cour.

Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
