A lovely antique Italian arched standing mirror in scalloped wood painted in imitation Japanese style dating from the end of the eighteenth century. The frame features a black lacquer finish decorated with timeworn gilded nature scenes and people kneeling at the base of the frame. Outfitted with a folding stand like a picture frame on the back, this mirror can move around easily to rest on any table surface. Alternately, it can be hung on a wall to complete a petit powder bath space or gallery wall. Mirror glass is old but not original and is easy to see one's reflection.
Note: Mirrors have been photographed facing fabric, a technique that reveals any age spots in the glass. In some cases, this may create the appearance of an empty frame, but each mirror is complete except where explicitly stated.
