An atmospheric landscape painting after a pastoral work by Felix Delmont (1794-1867).

On a road lined with large trees, a lady sits on a donkey pointing to a large fallen tree while a dog barks up at her. Beside the woman a shepherd stands with a cow. There is also a man crouching on the left. Other livestock mingle in the background under the trees.

Late-nineteenth to early-twentieth century.

Note: some cracking and wear to canvas and minor losses to the gilded frame.

Oil on canvas, unsigned.
