Antique Printing Workshop Cabinet - 60¾" x 61"

A charming early 20th-century printing workshop cabinet, retaining its original tray rack system and sloping work surface. Crafted in solid softwood, this is a humble utilitarian piece designed for daily use in a printmaker's or typographer's workshop, valued today for its authentic character and generous storage capacity.

The cabinet features a series of original vertical rack supports intended to accommodate multiple printing trays or drawers, while the slanted top provided a convenient surface for sorting, organising and reviewing printed materials. The open shelves currently fitted within the lower section are a later addition, offering enhanced practicality for contemporary use without detracting from the cabinet's industrial charm. The reverse is unfinished and was intended to be placed against a wall, as would have been typical in a working print shop.

With its honest construction, weathered patina and functional design, this piece would make an excellent storage unit for an artist's studio, creative workspace or gallery.
