This petite Provençal side chair invites with its graceful form and time-softened charm. Dating to the early 20th century, the stained beech frame rises to a broad crested rail with scrolled ears and a pierced back splat shaped as a neoclassical cartouche enclosing a delicate floral medallion. The trapezoidal rush seat rests above sabre legs joined by stretchers for stability. The surface shows a rich, even stain and a pleasingly timeworn patina, with gentle rubbing and small scuffs to the frame, while the rush seat, though a bit tired, retains its charm and remains structurally stable.
Well suited to French country or farmhouse interiors, this chair adds warmth and texture at a breakfast table, writing desk, or bedside. Its gentle curve and carved medallion offer a pleasing accent in an entry hall or alongside a console, and the natural materials pair effortlessly with stone floors, linen, and light woods.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
