A late nineteenth-century re-edition of a mythological group statuette from the Clodion studio. The original was made during the late eighteenth century by Claude Michel or Clodion (1738 - 1814). His works represented fauns, nymphs, bacchantes and satyrs inspired by Greek and Roman antiquity and mythology. His creations were prized by the of the time which made his reputation. Terraccotta signed 'Clodion'.
