This superb landscape watercolor is signed Max Maurel and dated 1906. An overgrown country path winds through a field of soft wheat, leading to distant rolling hills. The foliage, colors, and overall countryside is recognizably Provençal. The frame is simple with gold around the edges - note there are some losses to the frame - refer to photos.
