This lovely yellow pitcher dates from the late nineteenth century and was made in the Savoy region of France (the French Alps). It is decorated with green and light brown spots and is glazed inside and out, with the exception of the base as it was used for heating water on the stove. Note there is a superficial crack that is a fault from the firing process rather than from a later accident (where the handle meets the side). It can be used as a water jug, vase or decoratively. A superb piece that will add an instant touch of French country to an interior.
Light wear.
