This striking chandelier, in the spirit of the École de Nancy, combines finely worked wrought iron with richly colored pâte de verre shades, and is signed Reynaud. The design reflects the organic vocabulary of the Art Nouveau movement, with sinuous lines and delicate vegetal motifs climbing the structure.
The central bowl and three pendant shades display a beautifully mottled decoration in warm amber, ochre, and reddish tones, evocative of autumn foliage. This nuanced glasswork creates a soft, atmospheric light when illuminated, enhancing the sculptural quality of the piece.
The wrought iron frame is elegantly composed, with slender uprights and scrolling arms adorned with stylized leaves, demonstrating the refined craftsmanship associated with the Nancy school.
A highly decorative lighting piece, this chandelier would bring warmth and character to an interior, whether in a dining room, entryway, or bedroom. It requires electrification.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
Must be rewired and installed in accordance with local electrical requirements.
