A small but deep bowl in Limoges porcelain from Patricia and Walter Wells’s apartment in Paris. From Raynaud’s Céralène line, Lafayette model, by one of Limoges’s historic manufacturers, this vintage coupelle creuse translates as a small deep bowl. Patricia values pieces that balance refinement with everyday usefulness, and this one suits both the cook and the table. The white porcelain is light in the hand, crisply decorated with garlands of tiny pink buds and blue forget‑me‑nots divided by fine blue bands, and finished with a gilded rim. Inside, a neat floral spray gathers at the center. The underside bears the maker’s mark and inscriptions, and the piece is noted in excellent condition.
Its scale sits comfortably in the palm, easy to carry from garden to kitchen. Set out olives or salted almonds at apéritif, keep flaky sea salt by the stove, or serve a small sorbet between courses. On an open shelf the fresh flowers add clear color in Paris or Provence, a reminder of the markets and gardens that shape Patricia’s cooking, teaching, and generous hospitality. A refined, useful accent with the provenance of a culinary icon.
