This rare octagonal French earthenware plate or serving dish dates to the 19th century - possibly earlier. It features a pretty gadrooned edge, decorated in camaïeu bleu with a decorative border and flower motif in the center.
The glaze is crackled with general minor wear and chips consistent with age. There is no maker’s mark however the original firing supports have been baked into the back, revealing its age.
